Sew And Sews Place started as Sew And Sews on etsy in 2007 with my handmade handbags, a few made it to the etsy site, but most went to local craft fairs and my family. I quickly realized I was having more fun shopping for cool fabrics and wanted more than what I was finding at craft stores. A friend suggested I open a fabric store. When I was laid off from my day job I did just that-opened a designer and dressmaker fabric boutique!

Of course it wasn't that easy, it took a long time, a great deal of hard work, and a head instructor not showing up before things got going. Then we got flooded out. We moved to a new location and as time moved on I learned how to truly teach sewing while running the fabric store. I learned how to juggle. We had lots of cool classes from Beginners to tailoring, smocking and tatting, and sewing lounges. All of of this surrounded by beautiful fabrics.

Then one day the bottom fell out of our world. In April 2012 my youngest nephew died in a car accident. That was very bad. In July 2012, 10 weeks later, my youngest son, Nick, and his best friend Zac were both killed in a car accident one mile from our house. That was very, very bad.

The physical brick and mortar Sew And Sews Place has morphed again, now back to etsy where we began years ago. This time around there aren't any handbags, just glorious fabric!
